Hands down, the coolest thing we've done in AK so far! We did the Mountain House Tour with a glacier landing. It's funny because we booked it on a whim and hadn't given the flight a second thought, but the day we went happened to be pretty clear with just enough clouds to add to the drama of the place. WOW. SO COOL. Definitely do the glacier landing if you can afford it. The staff was accommodating when it came to scheduling the flight - just remember if you are under a group of 3, they'll have to find others to fly with you. They had space for 7 passengers on our plane, so it makes sense. I really appreciate that they kept the plane windows clean - our pictures came out really clear. When we landed, a lady came out to clean the windows immediately. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Amazing staff of people and solid mountain pilots. I love flying with them. One of a kind. Very nice and friendly people and excellent service. The pilots are very professional and reliable. We really felt a part of the family in the hangar. Highly recommend to everybody. Had an amazing adventure! Was scared to spend the money for two peeps but don't regret it! Want to do it again. The pilot was the man. He wanted to make sure we had a good time and we certainly did! We chose Sheldon Air Service for our Denali climbing party initially based on price alone. When we arrived, Dave and Shaina were extremely accommodating, letting us use the hangar to layout gear, giving us access to bathrooms and power after business hours, and even playing music for us while we ate pizza. One of our group (my father) remained behind to explore Talkeetna, and the Sheldon staff gave him suggestions on places to go and treated him like one of the family. My father also took a scenic flight with Sheldon and was impressed by the pilot’s knowledgeable of landmarks and local geography. When we weary climbers finally returned from a successful summit expedition, we notified the Sheldon base camp coordinator and a plane arrived for us within 45 minutes (possible due to good weather). All in all, we could not be more pleased with the service we received from Sheldon Air Service and would not even consider another air taxi company.
