We booked a room here for our 5 year anniversary. We spent the day in Denali National Park. We got to the lodge at 3pm there was a black suv with two ladies in it. Check-in is at 4pm so we decided to go to the brewery just down the street. We came back at a few minutes to four and went into the lodge. No one was around. We rang the doorbell inside the lodge and nobody came to help. We wondered around the property look for anyone. We then tried to call the lodge number which voicemail was full. We emailed the hotel and nothing. We continued to wonder the property for 45 minutes. This place has the location and looks nice but i usally like to get a room when i pay $200. I have not heard a word from the hotel and its been a week. The property responded to my trip advisor and said someone was there and it was my fault. They have my email address and info and can contact me but have not. This place has great reviews and sure great most of the time but this is my experience We really enjoyed our stay, and found this to be a great bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Yukon room - it's a bit small, but the bathroom feels like your own private sauna, with wood panel walls, a heater, and complementary bathrobes (fantastic in the winter). The room was very clean as well. Our north-facing window was perfect for viewing the Alaska range/Denali and the aurora while staying warm in our room. The owner Tom knew we were excited about seeing the northern lights, and even gave us a call to alert us when they finally came out. Breakfast the next morning was a hit as well – coffee, juice, turkey sausage, and a veggie quiche - and we enjoyed talking to the owner and other travelers staying at the B&B, sharing tips and experiences. One group reported they had really enjoyed the hot tub out on the porch, and another guest had gone out to the porch later for the aurora show. She shared beautiful pictures she had taken of the lights dancing over the mountains. If you don’t want to eat breakfast alone, want a chance to see the aurora away from the city lights, and maybe even play with the cutest little Chihuahua for a few minutes, this is your place. My husband and I highly recommend it! Fantastic place to stay. Lovely and memorable stay. Wish we could have stayed more. First class operation. Spent a week fishing and camping, and would recommend outfit to anyone. Top notch gear and knowledgeable staff help to enjoy the experience. Great place. Great host. Great food and service.
