I am a great lover of public libraries and I think this is an excellent new place and a wonderful addition to Talkeetna. I would have loved to rate it five stars but I think it deserves one star for its location. It is several miles from downtown, and there is no public transportation except for a shuttle service (Sunshine Travel) that runs every hour and a half on weekday mornings and costs three dollars each way. It is almost as if they decided to make it inconvenient and did not want people to use it. I understand that there were reasons for the decision to put it in such a horrible place (on a highway with no nearby businesses), but I think they would have been far better off saving their funds in order to put the building in a decent place: in downtown, close to the actual people, so that it could have been a living part of community life.
